2024 Winter Photo Contest
Thank you to everyone who entered our Winter Photo Contest, we had so many great submissions which made choosing a winner all the more difficult! Another thank you Sun Valley Co-op, Access Credit Union, Altona Farm Service Ltd., Only Local - by Bartsch Gardens, and Town of Altona Recreation Department for the amazing prizes.
Winners:
1st Place- Stephanie Fortier
This photo immediately stood out to us because of how unique it is in comparison to the rest. It was taken at the Buffalo Creek Nature Pond, a classic Altona attraction year-round, and it features a family ice skating, which has been a very popular winter activity in our community for decades. We feel this photo showcases the natural beauty of our town, the importance of family and loved ones, and demonstrates the safety and comfort of Altona.
2nd Place: Jonathan Krause
2nd Place: With the sun reflecting on the windows, this photo beautifully captures a popular tourist attraction and a well-known historic Altona landmark. The Gallery in the Park, built in 1902, has a rich history as a family home, a school, and now an art gallery. Our province is notorious for our frigid winters, but the shining sun in this photo represents the warmth and energy of our community regardless of the weather!
