Our new Neptune water meters are fully equipped with remote reading technology, eliminating the need for manual readings. The Altona Water Works team can now conveniently gather meter data from the street.
For your own use, and keeping track of your water consumption, you can still read your meter in your home by flipping open the top door to see the dials. In general, the only time that you will need to submit a water reading to the Town of Altona is a first or final reading - when you move into or out of a home.
To open or close your water account, you need to submit your first or final water meter reading. You can submit that reading in our online form, call the Administration Office at 204-324-6468, or stop by our office at 111 Centre Ave E during business hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30 - 5:00).
