Perry Batchelor
Represents the residents of Altona in the following committees and boards:

Perry Batchelor was elected to the Town of Altona Council in 2022. Born in Altona, Perry was raised in Gretna, until leaving for the Military in 1980. He spent almost 17 years in the Canadian Armed Forces, in which he completed Peacekeeping Tours in Cyprus and the Former Republic of Yugoslavia. He and his family also completed 4 years with NATO serving in West Germany. Perry and his family (wife Kim, daughter Megan and son Mac) returned to Altona in June of 1997 when Perry began his employment with the Altona Police Service. During his 25 years with the police service Perry graduated from the Winnipeg Police Academy and completed many courses with the RCMP, Winnipeg Police, and Brandon Police Service, to name a few. He also attended the Canadian Police College in Ottawa on 5 separate occasions, and completed a Diploma in Police Leadership through Dalhousie University. He retired as Chief of Police from the Altona Police Service on September 1st, 2022; having served 42 years in uniform. During his combined service he was awarded the Peacekeepers Medal, Peacekeeping Medals in both Cyprus and Croatia, the Special Service Medal for service with NATO, the Canadian Decoration, the Queens Diamond Jubilee, and the Police Exemplary Service Medal. Perry has enjoyed volunteering with Altona Minor, Junior, and Senior Baseball; Altona Minor Hockey; Altona Community Foundation; and he continues to serve on Provincial Boards and is the Municipal Emergency Coordinator for the Town of Altona.
