Altona & District Heritage Research Centre Inc.

The Archives, incorporated in 1999 as non-profit operated by a Board and volunteers, exists to save stories for future generations – to tell the stories of local joys and successes, of local tragedies and sorrows. To preserve and make available for research books plus paper & digitized documents, maps, and photographs that tell the story of Altona, Municipality of Rhineland and surrounding areas. Through its collections of the records of individuals, families, administrative bodies, organizations and Institutions, The Archives becomes the documented memory of the area – a window into the past available at a local level for the convenience of the residents of the area and beyond.
