Voluntary Water Restriction

A statement from the Pembina Valley Water Cooperative:

With the hot weather in the forecast, Pembina Valley Water Coop is requesting a voluntary water use restriction in order to help conserve water and reduce peak water demands.

Currently the Red River Regional WTP (Letellier) is operating at maximum capacity and the demand is putting a strain on our water supply. PVWC and the municipalities are working together to manage the reservoirs. Currently we are “holding our own”.

What does this mean for you, as an Altona resident? We ask that you refrain from any non-essential water use at this time, which includes filling swimming pools or watering lawns, until such a time that the voluntary water-use restriction has ended. See the document below for some additional tips to reduce water usage.
