Altona Aquatic Centre
The best place to spend a day in the sun! Feel the rush of a plunge down the 133-foot waterslide. Or, stay cool while splashing with the kids among the spray columns, water geysers, water cannons and jumbo spraying sunflower. Plunge off of the diving board, or swim lengths in the Junior Olympic sized pool.
The Altona Aquatic Centre will open for the season on June 26, 2021. The pool was closed in 2020 due to scheduled maintenance to replace the liner, as well as the COVID-19 pandemic. Now that the liner has been replaced, the spray toys refurbished, and the Aquatic Centre team has a clear plan and approval from Public Health to re-open the pool, the staff are eager to welcome visitors!
What to Expect When Coming to the Altona Aquatic Centre:
Swimmers are asked to come to the pool dressed and ready to swim to reduce the number of people in the change rooms. Lockers and showers will not be available for use at this time. Guests to the facility must not engage in any activity as part of a group of more than five people, and must maintain physical distancing of six feet from anyone who is not a member of their household. Lifeguards will be monitoring group sizes and overall physical distancing within the facility.
A mask over the nose and mouth must be worn at all times except when in the water, or seated on the pool deck.
Our capacity is reduced to 150 people in the facility at a time, which means that we are currently requesting reservations for public swim. You may walk in, but pre-booking a time slot helps to guarantee you will be allowed access.
Time slots are limited to one hour and forty five minutes each, and may be booked two days (48 hours) in advance. You can only book one time slot per day, but may return later in the day as a walk-in if there Aquatic Centre has not reached maximum capacity. Call the Altona Aquatic Centre at 204-324-5288 to book your time slot!
2021 Public Swimming Rates:
We will be charging a flat rate of $3 per person, which will allow you to swim during a 1 hour and 45 minute long time slot. Little Swimmers (pre-school aged) can swim for free, as long as they are accompanied by an adult. Season passes will not be available this year. Early bird and length swimming rates are set at $2 per person.
