On the 17th of April just before noon, police were contacted by the Altona Public Works Department reporting mischief. Police were called to the Industrial Park on 2nd St. NW police were advised that several (11) traffic signs had been cut down on both 9th St. NW and 2nd St. NW. The signs ranging from Stop Signs to Speed Zone signs to general notification type signs. All signs had been cut down by a moving company, moving a building into the Industrial Park.
Two Morris men 56 and 36 year olds have been charged under the Highway Traffic Act, further Criminal Code charges are pending.
Damage estimates are still being obtained with the damage to the signs, boulevard and neighboring lot in the thousands of dollars.
