Equal Access Altona is looking for your feedback!

Altona’s newly formed Accessibility Committee “Equal Access Altona” is looking for input from the community. A short survey regarding barriers that individuals may face in Altona is being rolled out today across Altona.  It can be accessed online through the Town of Altona website, or in person at a variety of places locally. The Town of Altona Civic Centre, Pembina Valley Pharmacy, South Central Regional Library Altona Branch, Blue Sky Opportunities, Katharina Court and the Gardens on Tenth will all have physical copies of this survey available to the public.

The survey has 41 questions, and takes 10-20 minutes to complete. After completing the survey, participants can opt in to be eligible to win one of four prizes, which will be drawn on July 12th, 2019. The prizes will be iPads or equivalent Chamber Bucks.

Barriers are defined as “anything – including physical, architectural, technological or attitudinal, anything that is based on information or communication or anything that is the result of a policy or a practice – that hinders that full and equal participation in society of persons with a physical, mental, intellectual, learning communication or sensory impairment or a functional limitation.”
