Public Notice: Petition Available for Inspection

In accordance with Section 163(1) of The Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Control Act of Manitoba, PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that a petition calling for a plebiscite with the following question was received on January 30, 2020:

“Should licensed retail cannabis stores be allowed in Altona? Yes, they should be allowed. No, they should not be allowed.”

The petition by eligible voters has been deposited with the undersigned and is available for inspection upon request at the Administration Office, 111 Centre Avenue during regular office hours.

As per Section 163(2) of The Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Control Act of Manitoba, any person may object to the petition, by filing a notice of objection with the undersigned on or before February 20, 2020. A notice of objection must state the name and address of the person making the objection and the grounds for the objection.
